Mikre-Ab, born in Ethiopia and raised in DC, has been in Utah since November of 2022. He came for the mountains but has stayed for the community, the bubbling undercurrent of Salt Lake steadfastly propelling the city forward. He became interested in food systems after reading Michael Pollan's book, The Omnivore's Dilemma, and participating in an event geared towards bringing together farmers, outdoor enthusiasts, and everyone in between (Farm 2 Crag). His work for the co-op involves outreach, fundraising, and aiding with policy. In his free time, he likes taking photos, reading, dancing, and searching for the perfect pour-over..
