The Store
On May 20, 2023, the Board of Directors signed a lease for our store location - The Milk Block located at 416 East 900 South, a future hub for local retailers anchored by Wasatch Food Co-op.
The store is going to span 6,540 square feet and as of early 2026, the construction is almost completed. Come see it with your own eye during the numerous tours we've been offering!
Wasatch Food Co-op is committed to sourcing as many products as possible locally, providing honesty and transparency in our product promotion, and excellence in consumer education and outreach. Our preliminary store design reflects those goals.
The store is going to include the following departments: produce, bulk, wellness, grocery, dairy, meat and seafood, deli and prepared foods, and plenty of seating for our community to gather in.

Construction progress
As of January 2026, Wasatch Food Co-op's remodel and buildout is almost completed. Both the exterior and interior are almost finalized, and we are only waiting on certain pieces of equipment that have not been delivered yet.

The neighborhood
WFC will anchor for the Milk Block, an adaptive re-use project in the heart of the Liberty Wells neighborhood. The site runs along the 9-Line corridor and is situated one block west of Liberty Park.
The redevelopment has been named the Milk Block after former San Francisco councilman and humanist Harvey Milk. It will feature community art and sculptures, outdoor plaza space and other amenities. The Milk Block will become a vibrant center for commerce connecting the East and West districts of the city.
Our neighbors
In addition to WFC, the Milk Block will be home to several locally owned and operated businesses including Native Flower Co., Equality Utah, Mozz Artisan Pizza, Neighbors Bar, Simple Modern Therapy, Xiao Bao Bao, Dear Coco, Manoli's Restaurant, and Basalt Day Spa. The Milk Block will be a great gathering place for folks to eat, drink and shop local.
As the great Harvey Milk would say, "we are building community one block at a time."
