Our Store
On May 20, 2023, the Board of Directors signed a lease for our store location - The Milk Block located at 416 East 900 South, a future hub local retailers anchored by Wasatch Cooperative Market. The store is will be 6,540 SF and its construction is currently underway.
Wasatch Coop's commitment to local means that we will source as many products as possible locally, providing honesty and transparency in our product promotion, and excellence in consumer education and outreach. Our preliminary store design reflects those goals. Our store includes the following departments: produce, bulk, wellness, grocery, dairy, meat and seafood, deli and prepared foods, and plenty of seating for our community to gather in.

Store progress
WCM remodel and buildout is well underway with the generous contribution from our member-owners and other donars.
Our Phase 1 Campaign exceeded our goal of $250,000 and reached over $288,000!

The neighborhood
WCM will anchor for the Milk Block, an adaptive re-use project in the heart of the Liberty Wells neighborhood. The site runs along the 9-Line corridor and is situated one block west of Liberty Park. The redevelopment has been named the Milk Block after former San Franscisco councilman and humanist Harvey Milk. It will feature community art and sculptures, outdoor plaza space and other amenities. The Milk Block will become a vibrant center for commerce connecting the East and West districts of the city.
Our neighbors
In addition to WCM, the Milk Block will be home to several locally owned and operated businesses including Phở 28, Manoli's Restaurant, Pie Party, Mozz Artisan Pizza and Basalt Day Spa. The Milk Block will be a great gathering place for folks to eat, drink and shop local.
As the great Harvey Milk would say, "we are building community one block at a time."
